Sanatkada began hosting a Weaves and Craft Bazaar in 2006. The bazaar brought together about 15 craftsmen from all over the country. Some of these groups were Chirag with organic and woollen products from Mukteshwar, Dastkar from Andhra Pradesh and leather products from the Artisans Alliance.
In 2008, another Weaves and Crafts Bazaar was organised at the Baradari. The Bazaar was inaugurated with ‘pigeon flying’ – a sport traditionally associated with Lucknow. Once again, craftsmen from different parts of the country brought their wares to Lucknow. Aagor from Assam brought Bodo weaves, Khamir from Gujarat brought fabrics like ajrak and bandhani and Urmul Marusthali Bunkar Vikas Samiti from Rajashtan brought woven shalwar, kurtas and home furnishing fabrics.
